What our readers have to say

Gentlemen,

I’ve been a fan of your show for several years and wanted to take a few minutes to say thank you for the tremendous show you provide us the fans.  I just ordered Pat’s book set to accompany me to my third tour in Iraq.  The information that you provide has given me a completely new appreciation for the game and can’t wait to get the book to see the game from an even more educated view.  I’ve listened as your audience has become a more insightful, educated group which is a testament to your fine preparation and manner in which you present the information.  The manner in which you speak to your callers is unlike any other show in radio, you really make them feel as though they are part of the family.  I think I can speak for many of us when I say thank you for making us feel a part of the NFL family.

Hey guys -

Noticed yesterday that the Falcons were using some 22 personal,
especially late in the game -- to good effect. Also ran a G Power with
Blaylock pulling, also to good effect.

Pat, I remember you saying long ago that with Roddy White's emergence
sometimes demanding double coverage, that with a 3 wide receiver set,
it'll leave Tony Gonzalez covered by a safety or LB, and man did that
pay dividends in the 1st half yesterday.

Snelling and Turner remind me a little of R. Brown & R. Williams down
in Miami now - 2 good big backs that are similar, but with a few
slight variations to keep the D on edge. That combo actually works
better than Norwood / Turner, I think. And I really like Snellings
hands too. (Hey, who knew Turner could catch?!?)

Great game to watch and way more so after reading the book.

Thanks again,

B Gamble

Pat,

I would like to consider my self as a BIG football fan. I have my
favorite team that I follow (which happens to be the Dolphins). I
have a wife and new born girl. I have a pretty normal 9-5 job where I
have the pleasure of listening to Sirius NFL Radio 4-7 hours every
day, for the last four years. My time for watching games was limited;
my better half would conveniently alter my attention to something
else (Help with dinner, bathe the baby, or clean up).

The day was Aug 25, 2010

It was a totally ordinary day, then I opened the mail box! My 3
copies of Pat Kirwan's book, TAKE YOUR EYE OF THE BALL (which I
purchased from www.patkirwan.com) had arrived and I knew that my life
was changed for ever. As I read through it with the highlighter  and
pencil writing my thoughts and questions in the column, the light went
on, and I SEE THE LIGHT.

I never watched any pre-season ball this year but I followed my team,
what’s going on with personnel who made the team , who got cut /
traded. I also followed the Jets, Patriots and even the Bills. I
watched both games last night with a new found respect for NFL
football. What I saw was last night was a thing of art. I couldn't
stop watching, I was hypnotized!!! NO amount of poking , prodding,
baby crying, dog barking, or getting hit by a flying cordless phone
could make me even blink. After watching the football like I have never
seen it.  I told my wife that she now needs to schedule around my
Sunday Night Football, and Monday Night Football, every thing other
than football is getting tuned out. I told her about the book and how I
can really see what is happening, I even went as far as saying that
this book is up there with our wedding, and our daughter being born,
as the greatest things that has ever happened to me. I believe her
response was "@#%&$#@"!

I have listened to Movin’ the Chains for the last 4 years, and I have
learned so much!  Thank you Pat for your gift of football knowledge, and insight.

PK,

I listen to MTC religiously every day.  I am a huge football fan, but I have always been an even bigger basketball fan.  The biggest reason I enjoyed basketball more was because I played it in high school and a little in college.  I can watch a b-ball game and I have an understanding of who is supposed to what, and what every player’s responsibilities are.  I never had that until I started listening to MTC.  I just rec'd your book and have only read half of it so far, but I already have a much better understanding of what is happening on the field.  I got more enjoyment watching football this past week than I ever have.  The humbling thing has been realizing how big of an idiot I sounded like with some of the comments I used to make while watching football.  Now I just sit back and laugh at all the other idiots around me.

I wanted to thank you for all you do and for making my football weekends and weekday afternoons more enjoyable.

Go Panthers!
